- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup milk

- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Sift the cocoa powder before adding it to the dry ingredients to prevent lumps.
- Use room temperature eggs and milk for better mixing.
- You can add 1/2 cup of strong brewed coffee instead of boiling water to enhance the chocolate flavor.
- Feel free to add chocolate ganache, buttercream frosting, or other toppings of your choice to decorate the cake.
- For a moist cake, wrap the cooled layers in plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight before frosting.
